Chief Information Office (CIO) Support

Pathfinder A+ provides: Lead Strategic Planning Communications Support for centralized communications services DHS OCIO-wide, coordinating communications support functions performed by contractor and Government employees throughout OCIO; Assist in conducting organizational strategic planning analyzing, evaluating and reporting based on OCIO management direction; and, Provide advanced and professional oral communication skills to communicate orally to and brief OCIO staff and senior management, as required. Pathfinder A+ provided a remote office, leased FOIA processing software, and laptops for each staff member, and processed 56,000 FOIA backlog documents associated with FOIA litigation and court ordered production schedules. Our analysts reviewed approximately 430,000 pages and completed the assigned FOIA backlog reduction in six months. Pathfinder A+ complied with VA Office of Information and Technology’s (OI&T) Technical Reference Model (One-VA TRM), one component within the overall Enterprise Architecture (EA) that establishes a common vocabulary and structure for describing the IT used to develop, operate, and maintain enterprise applications.

Integration Services

Pathfinder A+ supported numerous Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) efforts related to enterprise applications, data migration and management, and business process management projects. For ONC’s Office of Systems and Data (OSD), Pathfinder A+ helped manage the implementation of the ONC Enterprise System – called OpStar – an enterprise platform supporting functions such as budgeting, human capital, procurement, and service and asset management.  We also supported the implementation and configuration of Salesforce as ONC’s primary CRM tool.

Software Development

Pathfinder A+ provided web development for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Electronic Change Information Management Portal (ECHIMP) including requirements gathering, interface design specification, system architecture design, Java Two Enterprise Edition (J2EE) programming, and testing utilizing IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic Servers. The central WebSphere tool is the WebSphere Application Server (WAS), an application server that a customer can use to connect website users with Java applications or servlets. WebLogic is a scalable, enterprise ready J2EE application server. The WebLogic Server infrastructure supports the deployment of many types of distributed applications and is an ideal foundation for building applications based on Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).
